Cookbook photography
from Cologne, for publishers everywhere.
A cookbook works when people want to cook from it. I photograph cookbooks from the first visual concept to print-ready files. Together with Torsten, I cook the recipes in our own food studio, style them and photograph them so the book, its authors and its readers fit together. And because we wrote a cookbook of our own, we know the author's side too.

- A visual concept matched to the book, its readers and its design
- Recipe cooking in the studio, with recipe development on request
- Food styling and props
- Recipe shots, step-by-step photos, details and mood images
- Selection, editing and print-ready files
- Video for social media and book marketing via Oma Lore Kreativagentur

How does a cookbook project work?
We start with a visual concept that suits the book and its readers, plan the shoot days and cook the recipes in the studio. We stay in close contact with the publisher and the authors until the print-ready files are done.
Do you cook and style the recipes yourselves?
Yes. Together with Torsten I cook the recipes in the studio and style them for the camera. You don't need your own kitchen team on set. If the authors want to cook themselves, there is room for that in our full kitchen.
Which publishers have you worked with?
Among others Riva, Hölker, Community Editions, Christian Verlag and Naumann & Göbel. Two of the books became Spiegel bestsellers, and our own book Sober Drinks won the silver medal of the Gastronomische Akademie Deutschlands.
Where do you shoot?
Mostly at the Oma Lore food studio in Cologne-Kalk, with over 100 m², a full kitchen and daylight. Scenes on location, for example in a bar, a restaurant or while travelling, are possible too, in Germany and internationally.
What does cookbook photography cost?
That depends on the number of recipes and images, the effort for styling and props, the locations and the usage rights you need. Tell me about your book and you'll get a clear quote.
